At the moment there are quite a lot of exhibitions themed around Britishness. Obviuosly to tie in with the upcoming Olympics. One of the best of these is the V&A's exhibition, British Design 1948–2012: Innovation in the
Modern Age, celebrates the best of British post-war art and design from
the 1948 ‘Austerity Games' to the present day. Over 300 British design
objects highlight significant moments in the history of British design
and how the country continues to nurture artistic talent and be a world
leader in creativity and design.

In the Best Possible Taste Tapestries
I have been enjoying Grayson Perry's programme, 'In the Best Possible Taste.' He creates tapestries based on his research on today's social classes, ending in a exhibition. The photograph of him on his bike is not from the programme, but I think it is the greatest picture of him
As he reflected upon the classes, I could recognise things in myself, such as the middle class Cath Kidston bag. However I see myself as working class, and I would not want to aspire to move out of this group. He created two tapestries to represent each class, therefore six in total. The tapestries were created by firsty drawn by hand, then scanned into Photoshop then weaved from a computerised machine.
The six tapestries
Working Class
1. The Adoration of the Cage Fighters
2. The Agony in the Car Park
Middle Class
3. The Expulsion from Number Eight Eden Close
4. The Annunciation of the Virgin Deal
Upper Class
5. The Upper Class at Bay
6. Lamentation
Pictures are in order above, I could not find a picture of Lamentation though. Also I have been wanting for a long time, the purple Grayson Perry scarf in the Tate Modern shop.

Spring Summer 2012 Underwear Designs 5 & 6
Above are my Spring Summer 2012 Underwear Designs Art Attack and Power Florals These are the fifth and sixth of six designs. I will be making all of my designs, all of the underwear will be handmade in London, UK.
Art Attack
The Inspiration: Abstract Art. Models donned swaths of solid color and geometric shapes this season. From Barbara Bui’s clean, modern lines to Hermès’ angular couture, the art world’s twentieth-century geometric abstraction movement made its way to the runways.
Power Florals
Hyperbright florals were everywhere, including on trousers.
The underwear will be available on www.cherrykatie.co.uk

Spring Summer 2012 Underwear Designs 3 & 4
Above are my Spring Summer 2012 Underwear Designs. Americana Retro and Sugar Pastels. These are the third and fourth of six designs. I will be making all of my designs, all of the underwear will be handmade in London, UK.
Americana Retro
The decade of rock 'n' roll has the fashion world all shook up this spring. What could be more evocative of 50s glamour than Marilyn Monroe? Call it the mad men affect, but wasp waisted silhouettes and vintage accessories continue to captivate designers for spring summer 2012.
Sugar Pastels
After months of blaring neon and eye-searing prints, the pretty pastels we saw from Francisco Costa at Calvin Klein Collection and the new duo at Valentino were a welcome palette cleanser. Giambattista Valli and Louis Vuitton’s Marc Jacobs embraced the light, too, serving up colour-blocked looks in sweet ice cream shades. Two scoops, please.

Spring Summer 2012 Underwear Designs 1 & 2
Above are my Spring Summer 2012 Underwear Designs, Ultra Brights and Flirty Texture. These are the first two of six designs. I will be making all of my designs, all of the underwear will be handmade in London, UK.
Ultra Bright Trend
Spring runways were more colorful than the crowd at a Lady Gaga concert.
Bold, solid-color pieces—like a cardi and skirt, wrap dress or demure
one-piece suit—make simple dressing look glam. Our style tip: Stick to
three colors max to avoid the girly, Rainbow Brite look.
Flirty Texture
Sexy texture, a flourish of flirty lace is key to spring's old-school scarlet vibe.

Summer Window Displays
I always have a look at the window displays around town. Two I particularly like are American Apparel and Liberty's spring summer windows. The displays at American Apparel on Carnaby street, consisted of over sized flower heads. Whilst at Liberty's the windows are of their collaboration Dr Martens. Boots and bags, my favourite is the Strawberry Thief design.
